Almost every woman, and a number of men of the Nacirema, care about their skin.  These people go to great lengths for skin as smooth as porcelain, void of flaws and imperfection.  Many citizens of the Nacirema have rituals in place to perfect their skin. Every evening and morning, they splash their faces with water and lather in a viscous base substance in order to remove the natural sebum, termed “bad” oils from their dermis.  They then apply an artificial oil to replenish the sebum that was lost in the wash. They believe that this ritual will prevent blemishes. The public has been known to watch in awe as their icons go to great lengths in order to achieve non human complexions.  Strangely enough, Nacirema idolizes a woman made from plastic. A woman who has undergone several procedures of augmented mammoplasty and has her skin zapped by lazors to dissolve the craters on her legs. Her latest metamorphic ritual consisted of, giving up her own blood  only to be soaked back into her facial dermis after a microneedling operation. Sometimes these rituals are not enough to fix their skin. Therefore Nacireman women turn to a variety of pastes made from beeswax, minerals, and other oily substances which are to be aggressively beat onto the face to ensure absorption . This colored paste is sold in the market, where there are a number of beauty “gurus” who produce these pastes for a wide range of prices and qualities. According to the “gurus”, the paste should match the tone of the skin to hide one’s secrets and imperfections. Once all these steps are achieved, women of the Nacirema flaunt their artificially perfected skin on internet platforms in which the hope to gain the approval and acceptance from other artificial beings.

It could be said that these people are obsessed with the cleanliness of themselves.  Each day, in their ritual, they enter either a small pool or waterfall chamber to rid themselves of contaminants, both of the self and the outside world.  Here, they scrub and lather themselves with cleansing potions. To them, contaminants do not have to be seen or smelled to be known. The mind is the determiner of cleanliness and cleanliness is often times not determined by any factor except time.  After full decontamination, they exit their bathing chambers and apply a thick cream to the pits of their arms. This is to prevent the body from perspiring the contaminant known as sweat. This cream is often heavily scented, as the Nacirema are disgusted by the natural scents of the armpit. They religiously apply this product.  After this, they may treat the body as they have the face, in applying new aftricial oils to bring back what was lost from the cleansing. These oils and potions are often scented, again, as a means to mask the natural odors emitted by the body. These people view the scent of a body as something that should be diminished and masked.  Finally, one might apply a scented mist to the body. These mists are used to reinforce the destruction of the natural body odors.

Most women in the Nacirema are unhappy with the melanin pigmentation of their skin.  They often go to a glow master to make their skin appear darker by burning their skin under aftricial Ultraviolet rays.  This new pigment of their skin gives women a new confidence and glow and makes it seems as though they have come back from a tropical vacation without actually going on one.  The glow master provides three pigments to can choose from in order to decide how much darker you want your skin to be. The masters will apply a naturally pigmented spray or paint onto the body in order to enhance the natural pigment of your skin.  Once the paint dries, the Nacireman woman will walk away with a darker pigmentation of skin. The glow master will leave you happy and looking like you spent a week in the sun.

Furthermore Naceriman people are obsessed with changing or enhancing looks. They travel to a magic men who perform procedures to enhance your body.  When you get to the magical man you can ask him to fix you nose, face, breasts, butt, or anything that takes away from your self satisfaction. He uses material called silicone to insert inside the body, which makes the body grow bigger, rounded out and erect.  Nacermimans also inject themselves with toxic substances the enhance their cheekbones and dissolve any signs of aging. Looking from the outside, it can appear strange that people would put their bodies through such extreme procedures just to fix their imperfections.  Women especially in these tribes, are always trying to look their best because they are not comfortable enough with being in their natural skin. They feel as though changing or enhancing their looks will make them appear prettier for potential lovers.

Ultimately the Nacireman people value themselves over all other things. They spend hours looking these strange walls that display infinity as well as their infinite flaws. On earth, perfection does not exist, but the Nacireman people are determined to prove the earth wrong. No tribe is better than the Nacerima. They hold all the power, all the control, and the closest step to perfection all the earth has failed to achieve.
